The Alpha team came to Input to develop their previously designed, web based product with the goal of following up with a mobile app for both iOS and Android. As the dev team spun up web app, the design team dove into gathering requirements for the mobile app and conducting a competitive analysis. We worked with the Alpha team to develop a set of design principles to carry us forward.

Unique admin features were an important requirement for Alpha. As well as creating and managing courses and participants, admins can also broadcast media to users and create breakout rooms.

Due to the diverse user base we focused on making the call experience as user friendly as possible by using labels on important functions, supporting multiple languages, ensuring help & support is always accessible, and allowing users to provide feedback.

We conducted usability testing on our interactive prototype with several users to ensure the call experience was well understood. No major usability issues were uncovered, though we found that some icons were not well understood and leaving the call was difficult for some users.
